Catalog Item Workflow

The items in the catalog do not (and should not) become available to your customers as soon as they are created. They are taken through a workflow process that includes testing, reviewing, and approving. This topic outlines that workflow process and links to details for each workflow stage.

Workflow Stage Actions
1. Create a product, basic or compound bundle, or fee. Decide on a name, link it to a Service Design Center service policy if it is a plan (offering), configure the details.
2. Promote the product, bundle, or fee. Send the product for approval.
3. Test and review the product, bundle, or fee.

See how the product will appear to customers in the store in different environments, such as on devices and on the web. Check for visual and grammatical errors. Can customers purchase the product, and when they do, do customer devices receive the product?

See how the product operates on devices. Does it provide the correct service? Do usage and other notifications appear?

4. Approve the product, bundle, or fee. Sign off on the product. The product gets deployed according to its active date range.

This workflow is tied closely to sandboxes, which are used to segregate specific campaigns and manage the changes that enter the workflow.
