Change the Network Enforcement Used in a Policy
The bucket ID or rating group used in a service policy and the entitlement code used in an entitlement policy can be changed only when the policy is in Draft or Testing mode. Once the policy that uses network enforcement has been published, the bucket ID, rating group, or entitlement code in the policy cannot be changed.
You can change the network enforcement entity of a service policy (bucket ID for voice and messaging policies, rating group for data policies, entitlement code for entitlement policies) to any that you have in the Bucket ID, Rating Group, or Entitlement Code libraries.
- Find the voice or messaging entitlement policy in Draft or Testing mode that you want to change an entitlement code in.
- For an entitlement policy in a network feature, Go to Policy > Features.
- For an entitlement eCommerce policy, go to Policy > eCommerce Policies.
- Click the corresponding View button
in the right column. (The buttons in the right column appear when you hover the mouse pointer over the row.)
- Click the Lock button
(to unlock and enable editing).
- Click the Bucket ID or Rating Group name, and then click Switch next to the network enforcement policy you want to change. (The Bucket ID or Rating Group name is clickable only if the feature containing the service policy is in Draft or Testing mode.)
- Click the radio button next to the Bucket ID or Rating Group you want to use.
- Click Add.
The new association is saved automatically.
The goal of network enforcement is to enforce policies on non-embedded-client devices in parallel with the policy filters and policy events that control enforcement on embedded-client devices. If you do not edit the filter and policy event in the service policy where you changed network enforcement to match the bucket ID or rating group, non-embedded-client devices and embedded-client devices may behave differently on your network.
