The eCommerce section interacts with the policies section of Service Design Center, so it's important to understand what policies do.
Service Design Center is where you design and manage your policies. It provides 3 types of policies: service, data session, and WiFi. All 3 types are used for carrier network management. Service policies are also used as the basis for plans that are configured and deployed in the eCommerce section and sold in your store.
Policies are added to and configured in 2 types of entities in Service Design Center. One type, services (publishable features), is used for cellular network management. These services can be deployed to all ItsOn-powered devices on the network. The other type, plans (purchasable features), is what is made available to the eCommerce section.
At its heart, the ItsOn eCommerce section of Service Design Center is a store, a virtual store. But it is also so much more. It helps you manage products and their arrangement, point-of-sale, signage, marketing collateral, and more.
It is fundamentally a content management and change management program. The content is everything about what you offer your customers and what you use to describe and sell the offerings. The change management organizes all your changes in sandboxes and allows you to move them through a draft-promote-approve-deploy workflow.
